The Field Technician is a skilled, hands-on role responsible for the on-site assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of KBL’s pool enclosure systems. The successful candidate will possess strong technical and mechanical skills, a high degree of precision, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. This role is critical to our operations, as the Field Technician represents the company on-site and is directly responsible for delivering the final product to our clients to the highest standard of quality and safety.
Job Responsibility:
Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and installation specifications to determine job requirements
Preparing client sites for installation, including site measurements, set-out, and ensuring a safe work area
Assembling the structural framework of pool enclosures, typically consisting of aluminium profiles
Precisely measuring, cutting, fitting, and securing polycarbonate or glass panels into the framework
Installing and adjusting doors, windows, locking mechanisms, and ventilation systems
Anchoring and securing the enclosure structure to various foundations (e.g., concrete slabs, pavers, decking) to ensure structural integrity, stability, and weatherproofing
Conducting diagnostic assessments on existing enclosures to identify faults, leaks, or damage
Performing repairs, which may include replacing damaged panels, realigning structural components, or servicing moving parts like doors and wheels
Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure the long-term performance and durability of KBL enclosure systems
Conducting thorough quality assurance checks upon completion of installation to ensure all components function correctly and the final product meets KBL’s stringent quality standards
Operating a range of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively
Maintaining all tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean, in good working order, and securely stored
Adhering strictly to all Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies, procedures, and on-site safety protocols
Wearing and maintaining appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work site throughout the installation process and ensuring the site is left tidy upon completion
Liaising with clients on-site in a professional and courteous manner, providing updates on progress and answering any questions
Providing a clear handover to the client upon project completion, including instructions on the operation and care of their new enclosure
Communicating effectively with the Operations Manager and other team members, reporting on project status, and flagging any potential issues or delays
Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, plans, and specifications
High level of proficiency in the use of a wide variety of hand and power tools, including precision measuring instruments
Current and valid Australian manual driver’s licence
WHS White Card (General Construction Induction Card)
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges on-site
A relevant trade qualification or equivalent relevant work experience
Minimum one year of work experience on relevant position
