Job Description

T-Mobile is seeking a motivated and skilled Field Technician to join our Engineering & Operations team supporting the East Texas area field group. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving one of the nation's most advanced wireless networks through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, emergency restoration, and network modernization initiatives.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide technical support to resolve network performance issues and contribute to outage resolution efforts
  • Manage smaller projects or project segments, delivering accurate status and progress updates as required
  • Identify and recommend process improvements related to maintenance and repair activities to senior staff and management
  • Assist in developing job aids, scopes of work, and procedural documentation in collaboration with senior technicians
  • Complete required training to maintain current knowledge of systems, products, and organizational standards
  • Develop yourself through continuous learning – completing training requirements to stay current on existing and new systems and product in order to grow skills and to expand proficiency in alignment with organizational values and requirements
  • Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant field experience required
  • Candidates without degrees who have strong technical or field experience are encouraged to apply
  • 2–4 years of experience in field operations, maintenance, or related technical roles
  • 2–4 years of experience in wireless telecommunications or a related field
  • Electronics (Required)
  • Basic operational knowledge/understanding and theory of all interconnecting circuits to include but not limited to RF transmitters, antenna systems, AAV, fiber, microwave radio and AC-DC power systems
  • RAN – Radio Access Network equipment – Experience/Familiarity with Nokia RAN equipment is a plus
  • Microwave Technology – Experience with Ceragon Microwave technology is a plus
  • Attention To Detail (Required)
  • Problem Solving - Solves problems using creativity and innovation. (Required)
  • Computer Fluency with ability to use programs such as Microsoft Office (Required)
  • Understanding of Internet Protocol
  • Ability and willingness to incorporate AI into preparing solutions for and while triaging logical components

  • Day and night work is part of the job, as well as being part of an on-call rotation for the East Texas area, which includes nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift 50-70 pounds as well as being outside in the elements is an expected part of this role
  • At least 21 years of age to operate a company assigned vehicle
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice to have

  • Experience/Familiarity with Nokia RAN equipment is a plus
  • Experience with Ceragon Microwave technology is a plus
  • Acceptable areas of study include Vocational/Technical Training or related field (Preferred)
