Job Description

Join Vodafone Business Security Enhanced and strengthen the cyber security of the UK's Critical National Infrastructure and public sector organisations. The Field Technical Lead oversees all technical work across installation, commissioning, maintenance, and decommissioning of network services.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee all technical work across installation, commissioning, maintenance, and decommissioning of network services
  • Ensure compliance with standards, drive process improvements, provide technical guidance, and maintain LWIs and operational processes to support safe, efficient, high quality delivery
  • Manage assigned field engineers, including performance reviews, coaching, and development planning
  • Develop, review, and approve LWIs and operational processes for installation, commissioning, and maintenance, ensuring adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards and company Absolute Rules
  • Act as the technical authority in Field Engineering, ensuring all activities meet Vodafone and customer-aligned standards
  • Provide dedicated technical support to major programmes, ensuring delivery milestones are met and risks are mitigated, whilst identifying gaps in existing processes and implementing improvements
  • Be available to provide on-call support as part of a rota, ensuring continuity of service and rapid response to critical incidents

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Transmission networks, IP and Optical technologies
  • Hands-on experience with major vendors such as Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, and Ciena
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning and maintenance practices in telecom environments
  • Ability to interpret complex designs and translate them into executable plans
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to obtain and hold UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance

Nice to have

Beneficial experience in the Defence sector, including understanding of secure environments and compliance requirements and experience in JSPs
