The Field Tech Senior Associate role at NTT DATA involves managing data center operations, including hardware installation and vendor coordination. Strong communication skills and a basic understanding of the ITIL framework are essential. The position may require working in a 24/7 environment and involves travel. Relevant server certifications are preferred.
Job Responsibility:
Preparation of Rack elevation for new device installation
Must have strong knowledge of HP ProLiant\Blade, Oracle and Dell PowerEdge servers
Sound knowledge of general Health & Safety of devices in Data Centre
Governance for the rack & stack, power & Cable connectivity for Server / network equipment
Overview of hardware and Data Centre activity
Review for Hardware Failures Trend Analysis, Hardware Uptime report
Complete device inventory management for data centre
Understanding of Data Centre environment (Power, Cooling, Security, Processes ETC.)
Vendor / OEM coordination for Network / Server equipment
Device movement, redeployment of the assets and disposal of EOL assets
Understanding of LTO media, tape library, media backup and restore
Tickets / SLA management
Overview of hardware and tech room activity
Review for Hardware Failures Trend Analysis
Power Load & Consumption Details
Vendor coordination for Network and Fiber Cabling for Tech rooms
Hands-on experience to configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
Should have good technical troubleshooting skills to resolve issues
Understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model and routing protocols
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an authorized university
Minimum 2-3yrs of exp
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic understanding of ITIL Framework is a must (SLA, CHG, Problem, and incident mgmt)
Knowledge on ticketing tool preferrable ServiceNow
Willingness to work in rotational shifts 24*7 environment
Travel including overnight domestic may be required
Nice to have:
Relevant server certification will be an added advantage
