Job Description:

Our client is seeking two Field Service Technicians to join their expert service team. This hands on role is ideal for a qualified electrical fitter/mechanic or licensed electrician with experience in transformer maintenance and on load tap changers (OLTCs). You’ll work both independently and as part of a team, servicing high-voltage equipment across a range of customer sites. You’ll travel across Australia and will be provided with learning and growth opportunities, as you refine your craft.

Job Responsibility:

  • Service, repair, and maintain high-voltage OLTCs and related transformer components
  • Perform diagnostics, resistance testing, and fault finding
  • Install and commission transformer accessories, motor drives, and control systems
  • Modify and assemble electrical components and wiring
  • Use technical documentation, schematics, and procedures effectively
  • Mentor junior technicians on-site and in training environments
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and OH&S compliance
  • Liaise professionally with clients and internal teams

Requirements:

  • Qualified Electrical Fitter or Licensed Electrician (or equivalent mechanical/electrical qualification)
  • A full EWRB Practicing Licence in NZ
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working with transformers/OLTC across ANZ or internationally
  • Strong knowledge of power transformer functionality and components
  • Comfortable with hands-on, technical field work, in remote environments and where you need to think on your feet
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, both electrical and mechanical with a passion for keeping up with the latest technologies and trends
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A safety-first mindset and team-oriented attitude
