Based in Delta, BC, we are a leading distributor of high-performance industrial machinery, supporting industries ranging from woodworking to structural steel and metal fabrication. For decades, we’ve partnered with global manufacturers to provide cutting-edge equipment and complete lifecycle support, including installation, parts, and technical service. We are expanding our technical service team and seeking an experienced Field Service Technician with a strong background in CNC machinery and automation. This role combines hands-on mechanical work, electrical troubleshooting, and customer-facing support, making it ideal for someone who thrives on solving technical challenges and ensuring equipment runs at peak performance.
Job Responsibility:
Assemble and install newly acquired equipment at company or customer sites as scheduled
Upgrade and repair machinery efficiently to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safe work practices and industry guidelines
Proactively source technical information and share knowledge with the wider Service Team
Manage parts ordering and returns accurately to maintain lean inventory levels
Complete work orders, time tracking, and expense reports promptly to facilitate administration
Liaise with manufacturers to resolve complex service issues, escalating to the Service Coordinator when necessary
Conduct comprehensive machine demonstrations and onsite startups
Provide customer training on machine applications, operation, mainteance, and safety protocols
Perform diligent follow-ups to ensure all machine issues are resolved to the customer's satisfaction
Generate accurate installation and supplementary reports following customer visits
Requirements:
Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a machine equipment service technician
Post-secondary technical education in electronics, electromechanics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Reliable personal vehicle for travel to customer sites
Willingness to travel out of town and work flexible hours as needed
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
Physical ability to work on machinery and computers for extended periods
Nice to have:
Hands-on experience with CNC-controlled machinery and automated systems
Machinist or fabrication experience
Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pneumatics, high-speed assemblies, and integrated systems
Electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills, including AC/DC circuits, drives, and control systems
CNC operation, programming, and calibration skills
Ability to read complex schematics and perform precise mechanical adjustments
Exceptional problem-solving and multitasking abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Customer-service oriented, calm, and professional under pressure
Organized with high attention to detail and a proactive “think ahead” mindset
