Job Description

We are recruiting a high-level Field Service Technician in the San Francisco Bay Area for a well-established UPS system services and repair company. The ideal candidate would be a generator technician or Industrial HVAC mechanic – UPS experience is not required. The job duties include performing comprehensive mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on critical-application equipment. This role requires high overnight travel and on call responsibilities. If you are looking for a great company that values their employees, this is the job for you!

Job Responsibility

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (quarterly, semi-annual, annual) on UPS systems
  • inspect control panels and replace/align major components (generators, couplings, clutches)
  • Diagnose issues with Helpdesk support and log data via laptop
  • Complete checklists and Field Service Reports
  • Supervise outside contractors and diesel technicians during annual maintenance
  • Deliver first-class customer service on-site
  • Maintain professional rapport and clearly communicate arrival times and equipment status updates
  • Maintain 24/7 short-notice availability for critical equipment
  • Travel extensively (~70%) within an assigned US region, with occasional international travel (Mexico, Canada, South America)
