Job Description

We are looking for a Field Service Support Technician to provide hands-on technical assistance at customer and enterprise sites in Buda, Texas. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone early in their IT career who is comfortable traveling to locations, following direction from senior technical staff, and supporting hardware installations in the field. The position focuses on physical setup, device connectivity checks, and onsite user support rather than advanced server diagnostics or deep-level troubleshooting.

Job Responsibility

  • Travel to assigned sites to deliver onsite technical support for hardware deployment and network-related activities
  • Install and reposition equipment such as printers, racks, and peripheral devices according to site instructions and project needs
  • Assist with running, organizing, and connecting cabling to support workstation, printer, and network equipment setup
  • Work alongside network engineers and other technical team members during site cutovers to help validate basic connectivity and equipment readiness
  • Perform physical setup tasks that may include mounting hardware, moving equipment, and using ladders safely when required
  • Reconfigure endpoint and printing devices as directed to align with site layouts and operational requirements
  • Provide direct assistance to end users during onsite activities by addressing setup-related issues and escalating more complex problems appropriately
  • Confirm that installed equipment is powered, connected, and positioned correctly to support a smooth rollout at each location

Requirements

  • Experience handling and installing computer hardware and related equipment in a field or onsite support environment
  • Familiarity with cable installation and basic device connectivity for IT equipment and peripherals
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and support implementation work under the guidance of senior team members
  • Comfortable performing hands-on physical tasks such as mounting hardware, moving equipment, and climbing ladders safely
  • Working knowledge of printer setup, peripheral configuration, and general PC technician responsibilities
  • Willingness to travel extensively for onsite assignments and work in a fully field-based support role

Nice to have

Exposure to hardware from major manufacturers such as Dell Technologies and Apple devices is preferred

  • Perform and document regular quality assurance checks to ensure Operators are meeting standards set out in the Agreement, which include but are not limited to, the inspection of washrooms, lighting, signage (indoor and outdoor), customer furniture, TV monitors/video feeds, Tote equipment, ambient air temperature and the general cleanliness of each Teletheatre
  • Follow up in a timely manner on all issues identified in the quality assurance checks to ensure they have been rectified
  • Monitor to ensure that Operators are consistently enforcing compliance to all CPMA/AGCO HORSE RACING Rules and Regulations and any WEG/Off-Track Operations departmental policies. Ensure all required regulatory licensing information (CPMA, AGCO HORSE RACING, etc) is posted and updated as necessary
