or, 12 years of experience in specific industry
Possesses comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems
Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate
Extensive travel required (Local, National, International)

Job Responsibility

Performs expert level break-fix & preventative maintenance
Identifies and sources parts, supplies and repair items as necessary
Independently performs maintenance as per industry standards
Works with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures
May be required to setup and operate multiple machining operations including lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools
May perform welding tasks
Conforms and complies with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes
Documents work performed in service reports, applicable management systems, and written explanation regarding observation and collected equipment performance data
Provides assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to project teams
Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/ hardware and configuration problems

Associate degree in electronics, or equivalent technical training such as military instruction, or hands-on experience in field services, instrumentation, electrical systems, or related maintenance work
Prior travel experience and eagerness to travel extensively (90–110 days annually)
Hands-on technical skills, including ability to read electrical schematics, use multimeters and lab equipment, solder, and troubleshoot electronic systems

3 years of related combination Hardware/Software/IT experience supporting both proprietary and standard applications
24x7 on-call experience in a customer-facing/field service environment
Computer electronics, Windows OS, network experience
Must be able to work within defined processes and methodologies with minimal degree of supervision

Job Responsibility

Provide remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems located within hospitals and other healthcare facilities within the territory
Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders
diagnose, service, and resolve issues regarding proprietary hardware and software system components
Implement a preventive maintenance program
provide limited cross-functional support for our Sales and Implementation teams
Provide efficient field services to all BD customers in a timely manner, including but not limited to installations, in-servicing, repair, preventive maintenance, calibration, and sales support
Maintain proper and accurate small parts inventory for the purpose of service and follow approved policies and procedures for inventory controls
Continue training and self-development to learn the products and applications of the company
Possess and maintain a solid understanding of corporate and service department procedures and policies, including customer complaint handling and Medical Device Reporting.
