This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure the optimal operation of SIG filling line equipment at customer sites. The position requires strong technical expertise in mechanical adjustments, troubleshooting, and control system repair, as well as excellent customer relations skills. The engineer will also support continuous improvement efforts by analyzing system performance and implementing operational enhancements.
Job Responsibility:
Implement and manage hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for industrial filling equipment
Plan, coordinate, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment efficiency and minimal downtime
Conduct systematic root cause analysis of equipment malfunctions and breakdowns, ensuring permanent resolutions
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, automation, pneumatic, and PLC systems
perform electrical wiring and PLC programming when required
Install and commission manual, rotary, and aseptic filling machinery in compliance with specifications and standard operating procedures
Provide production support post-maintenance to restore or enhance line efficiency
Prepare and submit detailed service reports to the back office, documenting maintenance history, system failures, and recommended improvements
Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and repair equipment
Collaborate with engineering, field service, technical support, and management teams to plan deployments, resolve technical issues, and manage customer expectations
Provide customer training on equipment operation, safety procedures, and preventive maintenance practices
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct safety training as needed
Supervise and coordinate external contractors and support staff when required
Requirements:
Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering OR a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred)
4-8 years of experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and service within a manufacturing or field service environment
Experience with packaging line technologies (Carton and Bag-in-Box preferred)
Hands-on experience with servo programming, Allen-Bradley PLC programming, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and pneumatic machinery
Strong ability to analyze system performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Able to travel 100%
