With the new ownership and ambitious growth plans, MAAG Gear is looking for an experienced Service Engineer. To fulfill the objectives set for this position, it is necessary to follow the strategies and guidelines laid down by management and the line manager in each case. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the required standards of quality within relevant legal and operational framework. Despite being able to work independently, it is necessary for the incumbent to form partnerships with other sections, departments and groups, creating trust-based relationships that will facilitate success. All available materials and methods are to be used to ensure the best possible communication and accurate flow of information both internally and externally. The incumbent is responsible for all activities listed in his/her job profile, both working as an individual or as part of a team with relevant competencies.
Job Responsibility:
Professionally execute installation, inspection and overhaul of gearboxes, couplings, lubrication units and auxiliaries
Conduct customer and internal training as appropriate
Maintain equipment and site location records
Provide technical support to MAAG Gear Customer Service Project Managers and to MAAG’s customers
Prepare concise technical reports from site visits, including recommendations relating to further actions and spare parts
Accurately maintain timesheets to document work performed
Maintain needed safety certification and comply with all MAAG Gear, customer and legislated safety policies and regulations
Requirements:
A BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
at least 5+ years of field service experience in the machine building Industry, preferably gearbox manufacturing
Deep knowledge of gears and rotating parts
Fluent in English (speak, read, write)
Honest and self-motivated with a positive attitude and ability to work with minimum supervision
Outgoing personality and enjoys networking and meeting new people and different cultures
Ability to interact with personnel across multiple levels in both MAAG Gear’s and our customer’s organizations
Availability and willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time, including international travels and to remote areas where mines and cement plants are often located
Ability to tolerate stress due to challenging timelines
A valid Driver’s License and Passport
Ability to work legally in the location of interest
Good physical health with ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and lift weight of up to 55 lbs. (25 kgs)
Good vision with ability to identify colors
Solution oriented with the ability to analyze service requirements and make decisions necessary to achieve successful results
