The Field Service Engineer – High Voltage Battery Systems is responsible for providing expert, hands‑on technical support to the authorised dealer network, with a primary focus on the diagnosis and repair of High Voltage (HV) battery systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, effective, and timely resolution of complex technical issues, while maintaining manufacturer standards and customer satisfaction. As a secondary responsibility, the role provides advanced diagnostic support and technical guidance to dealer technicians across both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) platforms.
Job Responsibility:
Act as the subject matter expert for High Voltage battery systems, supporting the dealer network with fault identification, root cause analysis, and repair execution
Carry out on‑site HV battery repairs, replacements, and rectification activities in accordance with manufacturer safety standards and technical procedures
Ensure all HV work is performed in full compliance with relevant safety, regulatory, and manufacturer requirements
Support dealers in complex or escalated HV technical cases, including warranty‑related concerns
Provide detailed technical feedback to central engineering, quality, and aftersales teams to support continuous product improvement
Support dealer technicians with advanced diagnosis of vehicle faults across ICE and BEV platforms
Provide expert guidance and advice on repair methodologies, diagnostic processes, and best practice
Assist in the resolution of repeat or complex technical issues to achieve right‑first‑time repair outcomes
Support technical training activities where required, including coaching and mentoring dealer technicians
Act as a professional and trusted technical representative of the manufacturer within the dealer network
Maintain accurate technical reports, repair documentation, and case records in line with company processes
Work closely with Aftersales, Technical Support, Warranty, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment and effective issue resolution
Contribute to the development and improvement of technical bulletins, repair procedures, and diagnostic guidance where appropriate
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, Master Technician, or equivalent senior technical role within an automotive manufacturer or dealer environment
Strong technical knowledge of High Voltage battery systems and electric vehicle architecture
Hands‑on experience diagnosing and repairing complex electrical and electronic vehicle systems
Comprehensive understanding of vehicle safety procedures, particularly relating to High Voltage systems
Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to dealer technicians and stakeholders
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with a methodical approach to fault diagnosis
Full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region
Nice to have:
Formal High Voltage certification to an advanced or master level
Experience supporting both BEV and ICE platforms within a manufacturer environment
Previous experience in a field‑based or technical escalation role
Familiarity with manufacturer warranty processes and technical reporting systems
