Responsible for all Union Supply sales activities in an assigned territory (account and/or geography). Examples of specific duties are: internal and external communications, presentations, prospecting, relationship building, strategic planning, forecasting, facilitation, conflict resolution, safe driving, tactical thinking and creative thinking.
Job Responsibility:
Each Account Manager will be responsible for achieving the success of their individual sales plan
Travel is reasonably required to visit prospects, customers, etc., and to facilitate sales activities to grow territory and meet assigned objectives
Objective / Goals: Meet or exceed sales goals
Create and develop new customers
Maintain customer satisfaction at existing accounts
Grow, maintain & manage assigned sales territory
Lead by inspiration and example
Provide internal leadership and follow through to support new projects
Develop and maintain target list to support growth objectives
Account Responsibility: Maintain written account plans for all strategic accounts
Complete mailing list
Complete understanding of accounts’ buying power, decision makers, buying process and motivations
Business Activity Responsibility: Make twenty cold calls/month
Do one major presentation per month
Prepare forecasts, reports, etc. as directed
Internally communicate significant customer information and events
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
Alternate may be extensive and comprehensive experience in sales roles for consumer goods
Sales experience in related capacity or consumer packaged goods preferred
Ability to work independently, as well as within a cross- functional team environment
Customer service skills, with perspective on both Internal and External Customers
Highly effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to construct an effective business letter, to negotiate a business compromise, and to understand the hidden signals during a negotiation
Ability to use Windows/Office computer programs
Highly proficient in Excel spreadsheets
Knowledge of effective Sales techniques for acquiring and closing contractual deals
Basic knowledge of best practices utilized in progressive sales techniques
Ability to read and interpret product criteria and contractual specifications
