Job Description

As a Field Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying business opportunities and driving direct sales of Alfa Laval solutions focused on water treatment, industrial effluents (RILES) and process-related treatment applications across the Andina, Central America and Caribbean region. You will play a key role in developing the market, managing customer relationships and building a strong sales pipeline, combining technical expertise in treatment processes with a customer-centric and value-driven sales approach.

Job Responsibility

  • Drive sales activities following established processes and guidelines to promote Alfa Laval solutions related to water treatment, industrial effluents (RILES) and process treatment applications
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs and treatment challenges to develop effective sales plans aligned with division strategy
  • Identify, develop and manage leads, converting them into concrete business opportunities to ensure a healthy pipeline
  • Actively engage with customers through visits, meetings and technical-commercial discussions, understanding their treatment processes, effluent challenges and optimization opportunities
  • Manage and maintain the customer portfolio using internal tools, ensuring proactive planning and structured follow-up
  • Prepare and present tailored value propositions, highlighting the impact of Alfa Laval solutions on efficiency, sustainability and process optimization
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams (service, technical support, product specialists) to ensure a strong and consistent value proposition

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Industrial or similar)
  • Experience in technical sales, applications or field roles related to water treatment, industrial effluents (RILES) or process treatment solutions
  • Hands-on knowledge of treatment processes (e.g., sludge treatment, separation, biological or physico-chemical processes) is highly desirable
  • Intermediate to advanced English level
  • Willingness to travel across the assigned region
