Assist with planning, directing, and implementing the Company's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment on every project. The opening is based out of Ruhlin's Sharon Center office. This position reports to the Regional Safety Manager and will cover a variety of construction projects throughout the position's assigned area.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct comprehensive on-site safety assessments of projects as part of the constant monitoring process and monitor corrective actions taken
Help to ensure safety goals are achieved on every project
Help to ensure all governmental safety regulations are observed and practiced
Cultivate a positive attitude toward safe work practices among employees
Visit every jobsite at least weekly
Analyze and recommend corrective action for all incidents
Ensure employees have all resources necessary to work safely
Participate in pre-construction and handoff meetings
Develop Toolbox Safety Talks
educate project employees and conduct training as needed
Participate in the investigation of all incidents that result in lost time injuries or major property, liability, or equipment damage
produce investigative reports
Prepare all required regulatory reports and ensure they are submitted in a timely manner
Maintain safety files and records
prepare reports for management as needed
Recommend and enforce disciplinary actions for employees who violate safety policies
Maintain inventory of safety supplies to ensure project safety needs are met
Ensure Company policies and procedures are understood and implemented consistently
Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values, and goals
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or related field of study preferred
Minimum 1 year construction safety experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
Microsoft Teams
HCSS software experience preferred
OSHA 30 or approved equivalent preferred
Good problem analysis and resolution skills
Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and Company safety related laws, regulations, and policies
Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to provide effective training and education to others
Willingness and ability to work some non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends)
