EZARC, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Field Quality Control Technician to support industrial construction and structural steel operations at a major advanced manufacturing project site in Chandler, Arizona. This position plays a critical role in ensuring installed work meets project specifications, quality standards, customer expectations, and applicable codes and procedures.
Job Responsibility
Perform field quality inspections of structural steel, fabrication, installation, and related construction activities
Verify work is completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, procedures, codes, and customer requirements
Conduct inspections for fit-up, bolt installation, layout verification, material traceability, and general workmanship
Document inspection results, deficiencies, corrective actions, and completed work activities
Assist with tracking and maintaining quality records, inspection logs, turnover packages, and project documentation
Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, foremen, engineers, and customer representatives regarding quality issues and resolutions
Participate in customer walkthroughs, inspections, and audits
Identify non-conforming work and assist with corrective action processes
Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and installation requirements
Verify materials and equipment meet approved project requirements
Ensure inspection and testing activities are completed and documented properly
Assist with punch list tracking and project closeout activities
Maintain professionalism and effective communication with customers and project teams
Support company safety policies and maintain compliance with all site-specific safety requirements
Work in active industrial and construction environments while maintaining situational awareness and safe work practices
Utilize tablets, software systems, spreadsheets, and digital reporting tools for documentation and reporting
Attend project meetings, coordination meetings, and required site training
Maintain confidentiality of customer and project information
Work flexible schedules, overtime, weekends, or shift work as project demands require
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience in construction quality control, structural steel, industrial construction, or fabrication preferred
A CWI or VT Level II certification is preferred, but not required
Experience working on large industrial or advanced manufacturing projects preferred
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings
Understanding of structural steel installation and construction practices preferred
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and digital reporting systems
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work effectively with field crews, management, and customers
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
Comfortable working at heights, and scaling steel structures for inspection
Operating aerial lifts is preferred
Knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection processes preferred
Experience with turnover documentation and punch list management preferred
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Ability to pass site access requirements, background screening, and drug testing requirements
Nice to have
A CWI or VT Level II certification is preferred, but not required
Experience working on large industrial or advanced manufacturing projects preferred
Understanding of structural steel installation and construction practices preferred
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
Operating aerial lifts is preferred
