Job Description:

The Field Millwright is responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment
  • Layout and examine metal stock or workpieces to ensure specifications are met
  • Lift or move materials and finished products using mechanical assistance
  • Operate tools to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise form and assemble metal components
  • Heat-treat using acetylene torches
  • Hammer, chip, and grind workpieces to cut, bend, and straighten metal
  • Design and construct templates and fixtures using hand tools
  • Straighten warped or bent parts
  • Mark reference paint onto floors or face blocks and transpose them to workpieces
  • Set up face blocks, jigs, and fixtures
  • Participate in on-the-job skill training
  • Ensure clean and organized work space
  • Repair broken or defective machine parts using welding and brazing tools
  • Align equipment using specialized tools
  • Review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals
  • Transfer machines to several sites to install or repair them
  • Disassemble and reassemble machine parts
  • Attend and participate in shop safety meetings
  • Fill out Time Sheets
  • Report all hazards
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Project a positive company image
  • Perform any other duties or tasks assigned by the President

Requirements:

  • High school education
  • Valid driver license (DZ license preferred)
  • Own means of transportation
  • At least five (5) years previous work-related skill, knowledge and/or experience
  • Strong initiative, self-motivated, goal oriented
  • Solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories
  • Proven experience as a Millwright or in a similar role
  • Hands-on experience with construction equipment and machinery
  • Availability to travel regularly to different sites
  • Strong communication and computational skills
  • Detail-oriented with watchful oversight
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Contributing team member
  • Knowledge of and understand the industrial manufacturing process
  • Proficient in basic mathematic skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel to work locations (out of town work)
  • Ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality
  • Ability to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level and square
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues which can occur in field work
  • Ability and willingness to follow direction, as well as the ability to work independently
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to speak, read, and write any other languages are preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment daily
