Job Description

The Field Marketing Lead is part of a national team whose mission is to build positive and lasting relationships with current and future Saucony consumers, retail partners and the running community in general. The Field Marketing team works in tandem with the Saucony Marketing and Sales teams to identify marketing opportunities in key territories nationwide, bringing our brand voice to life and facilitating a two-way conversation with consumers 365 days a year. The ideal candidate will have strong management and multitasking skills, as you will supervise a national team of field marketing specialists while also managing the programs and tools needed for the team to succeed. In this position, you will work closely with the Account Marketing team to plan and execute field initiatives and will guide your team in our day-to-day mission of increasing brand awareness and driving sell-through at retail. Excellent organization, communication and creative problem-solving skills are required, as is the ability to assess situations quickly and act with urgency to keep projects moving forward. This role is Remote within the west region and must reside within the West Coast Territory, preferably in Texas. This position requires travel to events, conferences, and field travel with direct reports as needed.

Job Responsibility

  • Hire, train and supervise a national team of field marketing specialists (Shadow Reps).
  • Work closely with each Shadow Rep to understand their unique territory needs so you can guide them in providing best-in-class service to our retail partners.
  • Build an understanding of our global marketing platforms, product lines and wholesale channels in order to find dynamic ways for your team to execute on a local level.
  • Determine the right level of support for major products and key accounts and communicate that clearly and regularly to the field team.
  • Set goals for and ensure field marketing specialists comply with field service performance metrics, providing monthly or as-needed reporting to upper management.
  • Oversee key account projects or marketing initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain and track individual and team travel/marketing budgets

  • Forecast, source and place orders for seed/demo product, promo items, and other tools needed by the field marketing team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Marketing or Sales experience, and experience working in retail, especially within the running and athletic footwear and apparel industry.
  • Familiarity with our key wholesale partners and an understanding of their needs as it pertains to Field Marketing.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the sport of running, with a personal connection to running culture.
  • Strong organization, prioritization and time management skills are necessary, as you will be working outside of the corporate headquarters.
  • Must be able to manage multiple ongoing projects with different teams and partners, and maintain a high level of organization throughout.
  • Must be comfortable, confident and engaging when presenting to groups large and small, and be able to communicate clearly in person and via email.
  • Maintain peak professionalism and discretion in daily interactions with your team, retailers and consumers, and be adaptable to varying needs and expectations from those parties.
  • Have sharp attention to detail and be able to meet strict and sometimes short deadlines.
  • Must be willing and able to travel and work on nights and weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) due to retail promotions and events.
  • Strong PC/tablet skills, including proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, database management, report creation, internet applications, and social media.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in good standing.
