Support transmission and substation programs by providing field-based inspection, safety oversight, and documentation for construction, maintenance, restoration, and repair projects. This role ensures compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations while serving as the eyes and ears of the Program Management team.
Job Responsibility:
Perform steel structure foundation and repair inspections
Perform substation foundation and repair inspections
Oversee wood pole treatment and testing methods
Oversee steel structure coating crews
Evaluate transmission structures to assess overall circuit health
Assess storm damage and support emergency restoration crews
Ensure contractor compliance with safety protocols, PPE requirements, engineering drawings and specifications
Capture and submit detailed photo documentation
Produce accurate daily and weekly inspection reports
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of active field experience
Valid and current driver’s license
U.S. citizenship
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, customer and engineering standards
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to create clear, detailed inspection reports
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to perform consistent photo documentation
Strong experience in transmission line work, foundations, conductor stringing, transmission substations and facilities
Knowledge of QA/QC inspection and reporting practices
Knowledge of electronic and mobile reporting tools
Strong computer skills for documentation and reporting
