Administer medications (IM, SC and IV as applicable) in home or specialty clinic settings
Support/monitor administration of IV infusion treatments in the clinic and/or homecare setting
Monitor post-injection/infusion treatments as well as chart and report on all activities as directed by program protocols and standards of professional nursing documentation
Provide patient education based on program protocols, individually or in groups
Report adverse events, serious adverse events, product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures
Provides reliable availability based on the agreed upon employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics Key Performance Indicators
Coordinate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling and other departments to meet established timelines for scheduling appointments, treatments, and communication of information
Perform administrative duties such as monthly clinic audits, supply ordering and other duties as assigned
Participate regularly in team web-based meetings/training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional practice standards
Participates in specialized client related trainings as required
Consult with physicians, pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients regarding education and implementation of product specific programs
Required to travel within you’re designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet the operational needs
Required to follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and Work Instructions
Required to follow all Health and Safety standards as per the provincial Health and safety Act
Required to complete ongoing and annual education training as per the training matrix within the specified timeframes
Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by the professional associations, regulatory bodies and the company policies and procedures
Perform related duties and tasks as required by Innomar
May be required to be on standby/on call to meet the service needs
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse
Diploma/University degree in nursing or related field
Current registration with provincial licensing body
CPR certificate
Experience in acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting
Knowledge of Cell phone for making and confirming appointments/assignments and fax machines
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare team
Able to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger team
Able to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical boundary
Hold and maintain a valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage
Nice to have:
Experience with IV therapy is an asset
ACLS, PALs, MS and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are considered assets
