Job Overview: Field Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of field experience and with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership. They are responsible for solving a range of straightforward field/yard-related issues and analyzing possible solutions using the company’s standard procedures and processes. Field Engineer understands key business drivers and applies the acquired knowledge to solve problems through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
Job Responsibility
Ensure that all work is carried out safely in compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment policies and procedures
Readiness to travel offshore for job execution, including willingness to be at the onshore site as required
Recommend changes in the technical details and drawings where these may result in safe operations and clarity on information in the installation procedures
Develop the vessel layout and barge loadout plans for the transportation of materials, equipment, and structures offshore to facilitate safe and timely installation
Actively participate in project Constructability sessions, Readiness reviews, Hazard Identification studies, or Job Safety Analysis as applicable, and communicate to implement the recommendations
Review and retain project drawings and documents, report the discrepancies, errors, and omissions concerning the information required to perform the work
Ensure the work is within the capabilities of the proposed equipment
Prepare offshore installation procedures as per the Company Procedures and Processes
Prepare a material list covering the construction materials and project consumables, and liaise with the project coordinator for the procurement
Issue "Loadout Lists" applicable to the work based on the recommended practice
Coordinate with Marine, E&M, Welding, Quality, HSES, Survey & ROV, Diving Departments and Subcontractors as per offshore scope execution requirements to ensure that necessary equipment and personnel are available and ready to be deployed for the project
Witness/inspect pre-rigging, loadouts, and sea fastening, and acknowledge the receipt of fabricated structures, line pipes, and other materials to be installed offshore
Coordinate with the Production Engineers and verify loadouts of fabricated items for the project
Coordinate with the logistics team for inputs on materials, structures, equipment loaded out for cargo movements from one location to another, either by ship/barge/trucks, etc.
Liaise with the customer representative and various subcontractor representatives at the offshore site and with the Operations Engineer
Monitor the progress of the work and site conditions and advise the Operations Engineer of any development that may result in changes to the project and schedule, and/or execution sequence
Conduct work scope presentations to offshore key personnel explaining the planning and execution of work, including contractual and technical aspects of the work
Participate in the resolution of any technical problems arising during offshore installation and assist in the formulation of corrective action requirements
Prepare Post Job Completion Reports as per Company Procedures
Prepare/collate as-built documentation and records as required by contract requirements and approved project scope of work
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
3-5 years of offshore installation experience
3-5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with Major Contractors or a consultant
Knowledge in Auto CAD or similar tools
Adequate knowledge of design and offshore project execution
Basic knowledge in Microsoft tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., and any 3D software experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Willingness to travel to different job sites and work in various environmental conditions as required
Extensive knowledge & experience of offshore EPCI / Transportation and Installation projects including execution, safety management, budget control, schedule control and quality control management
