Job Description:

Performs drive testing data collection of Macro networks. Responsible for data collection of cellular frequencies utilizing RF test equipment such as PCTel scanner and data collection software, TEMS Investigation. Stationary testing is performed by drive testing in a vehicle to various location throughout Northern California. Data collected is used to optimize the network and reduce lost calls and ineffective attempts and increase throughputs and connections. Vehicle and expenses will be paid by the company.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs drive testing data collection of Macro networks
  • Configure test devices to collect information for specified technology
  • Assist in implementing solutions and providing reports in a timely manner
  • Setup, calibrate and maintain testing equipment for various testing scenarios
  • Understand data collection expectations, deliverables, and time constraints
  • Create daily summary emails and timestamps for tracking purposes
  • Able to complete project deliverables with minimal direction
  • Interact with the engineering team, project management and with customers

Requirements:

  • BS/AS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related degree or equivalent experience
  • Should have a good understanding of engineering concepts and must show aptitude and desire to learn and advance in a technical field
  • Must be able to understand technical procedures
  • Must be able to read maps, work a GPS and follow instructions
  • Proficient in office computer applications: Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Good analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work days or nights with minimal supervision
  • Must speak and write fluently in English
  • Candidates must be legal residents or authorized to work in the US for any employer
  • Must have and maintain a CLEAN and VALID state driver’s license
  • Candidates MUST be 25 years of age or older for insurance compliance
  • Work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office: (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

Nice to have:

  • 1-5 years of cellular/ telecommunications field testing experience
  • Experience with RF Tools: PCTEL scanners, Pocket TEMS, Rhode & Schwartz equipment, spectrum analyzer, MapInfo, TEMs, SeeHawk, DataPro, StreetAtlas,Actix, XCAL, QXDM
