Field engineers assist with the management of construction projects to make sure they run smoothly, safely, and effectively. They have a wide range of job responsibilities. Field Engineers monitor activities at construction sites. They work to ensure construction progresses as scheduled and contract specifications are adhered to.
Job Responsibility:
Attend job specific meetings including: PIT, Whiteboard, Bullet proof walks, and/or any other pertinent job walks deemed necessary by Superintendent
Gather information obtained and report to Superintendent
Review Shop and Erection drawings with Project Engineer and ensure field use drawings are current
Monitor job progress in the field, could be self-performed or subcontracted work
Report progress to the Superintendent
QC work in the field (prior to official inspection) – refer to QC testing procedures
Know when deliveries are coming, coordinate with Project Engineer
Be on site when deliveries arrive, verify material with BOL
coordinate with General Foreman
Report back to Project Engineer and Superintendent with any issues (accuracy, damage, completeness, etc.) with material deliveries received
Schedule Inspections (Bolts, Epoxy, Welds, Lot Tests, etc.)
Attend Inspections and answer questions inspectors may have
Ensure inspections are completed and that paperwork is handed off to the Project Engineer for record keeping
Initiate field related RFIs and/or support field gathering of information for an RFI to support Project Engineer for submittal
Prepare, submit, and track project specific field documents

Report to the PE/project team that an NCR (Non-conformance report) issue has been identified in the field, with photos if required
Coordinate as-builts with General Foreman
provide documentation to Superintendent and/or requesting party
Conduct / facilitate concrete scanning
Conduct and/or verify field survey is completed, review and document results
Help prepare and review crane plans, erection plans, and logistics plans, if needed
assist the Superintendent and work with Safety
Requirements:
Use computer programs such as Navisworks, Trimble, Bluebeam, Vista, Microsoft Office Products, Tekla, etc.
Be a team player and support the project team
Able to stand and walk for long periods of time outdoors in varying weather conditions
Occasionally required to utilize fall protection harness and work from heights
Must lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds on occasion
