Job Responsibility:
Manage survey field personnel, survey equipment, and survey trucks
Coordinate fieldwork schedules for complex, multi-faceted projects
Receive broad guidance relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, policy matters, and broad parameters for execution
Receive direction on highly complex assignments
Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields
Review work produced by staff for quality assurance
Assist with marketing the firm’s capabilities to identify and establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients
Consult and coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal departments such as engineering and planning
Ensure projects are staffed, fieldwork is accurate, and deadlines are prioritized while maintaining and following Bowman Field Standards
Ensure Field Crews are prepared, supported, and on task in a changing environment
Oversee Survey Field Crew time entries for accuracy and completeness
Oversee maintenance of Survey Equipment, Trucks, Trailers, and UTVs
Maintain stock of field supplies (flagging, stakes, nails, etc.)
Communicate with department and project managers regarding project and schedule changes and their impacts
Assist Survey Field Crews with troubleshooting and correcting minor equipment malfunctions
Compute construction staking plans and review field staking accuracy
Compute and process raw field data, CAD computations, and DTM processing
Complete performance management processes with assigned personnel
Perform supervisory tasks: reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, training new hires, scheduling, resolving employee issues, reporting to HR and senior management, and conducting 1:1 sessions and performance reviews
May complete survey field work when necessary, as well as CAD computations and drawings
Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
Associate’s degree in surveying or related field may count as one (1) year of experience
Five (5+) years progressive surveying field experience required
Two (2+) years progressive office experience preferred
In‑depth knowledge of Trimble Survey Equipment, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and Carlson Software
Strong understanding of various Field Survey Workflows and time estimation for project completion
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record required
