The Field Applications Specialist Leader, APAC is responsible in driving sales and design-in across the region through technical competency and customer satisfaction covering both Cell Therapy and Upstream Viral Vector market segments. This position reports to the APAC Modality Leader for CT and VV and is part of the APAC Genomic Medicine OpCo located in Korea and working remotely to cover APAC region (Cell Therapy) and Korea (Cell Therapy and Viral Vector Upstream).
Job Responsibility
Lead pre and post sales technical support activities including high impact product demonstrations, technical seminars, and customer training programs
Apply deep scientific and application expertise across Cell Therapy and Viral Vector Upstream (primarily cell culture) workflow to build customer confidence and drive adoption within the Korean market
Serve as APAC Field Application Sciences (FAS) Leader, providing strategic guidance to regional FAS teams on competitive differentiation, objection handling, and value based positioning
Ensure strong technical credibility during key strategic customer engagements and standardize winning approaches for priority and strategic accounts
Collaborate closely with Workflow Development Leaders across APAC to deliver technical coaching, mentoring, and best practice sharing
Ensure consistent application knowledge, messaging, and customer engagement standards while supporting complex escalations and strengthening overall FAS capability
Act as a critical interface between regional teams and global functions (Applications, Marketing, and R&D) to communicate field insights, customer feedback, and unmet needs
Drive alignment on product positioning, roadmap prioritization, and successful execution of global and regional product launches and key initiatives
Lead Spec Win strategy and execution, proactively identifying and qualifying design in opportunities early in the customer buying journey
Coordinate cross functional technical inputs, align proposed solutions with customer process needs, and clearly articulate Cytiva’s differentiated value proposition to secure long term wins
Requirements
Master’s Degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences or relevant field. Preferably in cell biology, biochemistry, regenerative medicine and immunology. PhD is highly preferred
2 years experience in cell therapy, cell culture, and GMP manufacturing (including exposure from process development through scale-up)
5 years of customer-facing applications experience within the Biotechnology industry
Knowledge of cell therapy workflows (CAR-T, NK, iPSC, MSC, regenerative medicine) and Viral Vector Upstream workflow (Cell Culture, Cell Line and Bioreactors)
Fluent level of English & Korean in written and verbal communications
Ability to travel abroad upon business needs
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record within territory or locations
If foreign national, legal work permit is required to pursue employment contract by Korean immigration law
Ability to lift, move or carry equipment, any other physical requirements
