Job Description

The Application Engineer supports customer node projects, new product introductions, and the evaluation of new functionalities. (50%) In addition, this role serves as the local project lead for customer node projects, driving workstreams and managing internal and external reporting. (50%)

Job Responsibility

  • Support engineering activities for node transition projects and act as the local project lead
  • Drive workstreams, coordinate schedules, and manage reporting for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Introduce new products and demonstrate the value of ASML solutions
  • Conduct product evaluations and ensure successful adaptation in HVM environments
  • Understand customer needs and develop clear problem descriptions aligned with customer use cases
  • Study new products and functionalities, and support evaluation activities
  • Take ownership and act proactively
  • respond promptly to issues as they arise
  • Lead engineering work and coordinate with ASML experts (ABS, DE, GSC), serving as the engineering interface to the customer
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments including Sales, Marketing, and Product Management
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to drive issue resolution
  • Provide engineering support for DUV, YS, and VCP
  • Execute project management tasks as the local project lead

Requirements

  • More than 2 years of experience in the semiconductor industry
  • More than 2 years of experience in project-related roles
  • Strong capabilities in data analysis, reporting, problem solving, and driving workstreams for node transition projects
  • Awareness of cost of ownership and the ability to maximize value delivered by ASML products
  • Ability to create clear and user-friendly technical documentation using commonly understood terminology
  • Troubleshooting skills and proficiency in data analysis
  • Software skills: Excel, PowerPoint, MATLAB
  • English requirement: TOEIC 600+ with daily conversational ability
  • Ability to deliver presentations and lead technical discussions in English both internally and externally
  • Japanese requirement: JLPT N1 or native-level proficiency
  • Ability to lead technical discussions in Japanese during customer meetings
  • Project management skills, including preparation of internal and external management reports
