The Contractor, field administrator / Construction & Maintenance line person is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and assisting with executing overhead and underground capital construction, connections and maintenance projects. This contractor ensures strict compliance with safety legislation and utility standards, manages project schedules, and upholds exceptional quality and customer service performance, as well as guidance to field crews and subcontractors. The position requires deep technical knowledge of powerline construction, proven site supervisory experience, and the ability to drive operational excellence across multiple concurrent projects.
Job Responsibility:
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work practices comply with legislation, ESA Regulation 22/04, and internal work procedures
Conduct safety meetings, onsite inspections, and incident investigations
recommend corrective actions
Identify, assess, and control hazardous conditions and safe-work standards
Plan and schedule construction and maintenance activities for overhead and underground systems
Coordinate emergency repairs and system restorations
Monitor work progress using project reporting systems and ensure milestones are achieved
Review and interpret electrical drawings, prints, and designs to support project execution
Supports design team with any field and construction unit interpretations to support billing
Provide mentorship to design team progressing into their roles
Foster positive customer and stakeholder relationships
Inspect materials, workmanship, safety practices and methods to ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, and quality standards
Issue deficiency notices, ensure follow-up, and maintain rigorous documentation
Validate project completion packages including as-builts, walkdowns, documentation, and material returns
Collaborate with design teams during pre-planning and construction stages

Support customer satisfaction, brand protection, and THESL reputation during all field interactions
Requirements:
Red Seal Power Line Technician
Ex-utility experience in a supervisory role (THESL preferred)
Familiarity with Toronto Hydro distribution system 13.8kV, 27.6kV, 4kV, Network & Box Systems
Familiarity with Utility Work Protection Code UWPC
