The Role: At GM, we have multiple groups who determine the root of the issue and then rely on the Field Action Team to support the launch of corrective actions expediently. Every project requires team members to Think Customer by considering our customers’ needs in the center of all they do. We need team members who are innovative problem solvers and risk takers to not only influence the direction of the Supply Chain Management organization, but also positively collaborate and support internal and external customers as needed to ensure successfully executed field actions. Success is defined by our team as being agile to react to changing priorities and utilizing critical data analysis along with established processes and tools that drive effective decision making.
Job Responsibility:
Program manage all activities necessary for ensuring availability of parts for GM Field Actions
Utilizing project management skills to track milestones and deliverables is critical to achieving launch timing
Proactively manage change, identify potential crises, and develop contingency plans
When necessary, may involve conducting post-mortems and creating recommendations for continuous improvement
Requirements:
2+ years relevant work experience in supply chain, purchasing, program/product management, engineering, logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
Position communicates to all levels of the organization, within the function as well as other functions and suppliers
Position is responsible for supporting relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers
Handle very complex capacity constraint issues to resolution with goal to eliminate potential plant disruptions and reduce premium transportation
Analyze metrics supporting supplier critical issues or sufficiency plan resolution
Ability to be flexible and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution
Ability to tackle problems, complete issues and implement new and innovative strategies
Deep understanding of Supply Chain functions

Nice to have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) with appropriate interpersonal styles to work effectively with cross-functional and global business partners of all levels of the organization (both inside and outside of GM) to meet field action goals
Highly skilled at working independently and in a team environment with a high level of ambiguity
High level of functional expertise within Supply Chain, knowledge of Warehousing and Distribution, Engineering, and/or Purchasing background would be beneficial
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite including OneNote, Teams, and SharePoint
Competency or knowledge of IMS host system a plus
High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills where problems are often unusual and complex
