Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Fiduciary Administrator to join a midsize law firm in Garden City, New York. This role requires expertise in estate planning and administration, particularly in preparing estate tax returns and handling complex fiduciary matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting estate documents and managing all aspects of probate and trust administration.

Job Responsibility:

  • Draft a variety of estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, Grantor Trusts, QPRTs, CRUTs, and CRATs
  • Oversee all stages of estate administration, such as filing probate petitions, preparing estate tax returns, and managing estate accounts and distributions
  • Meet with clients to discuss estate plans and oversee the execution of wills
  • Provide guidance to trustees, beneficiaries, and personal representatives on trust and estate administration matters, including resolving disputes
  • Conduct research and analysis on complex estate and gift tax issues to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Prepare and file necessary legal documentation for estate administration, including probate filings and accountings
  • Manage will contests and miscellaneous proceedings related to estate administration
  • Advise clients on strategies to optimize estate planning and minimize tax liabilities
  • Collaborate with legal teams and other professionals to ensure seamless administration of estates and trusts

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in estate planning and trust administration, including drafting legal documents
  • Proficiency in preparing Form 706 and estate tax returns
  • Strong knowledge of probate processes and estate law
  • Ability to research and resolve complex estate and gift tax issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client communication and relationship management
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Familiarity with fiduciary duties and responsibilities
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
