The Fiber Construction Technician is responsible for the installation and maintenance of fiber infrastructure within assigned rural municipalities (RMs). This role involves operating a variety of construction and installation equipment to place fiber safely and efficiently, while following company standards and project specifications. The technician installs fiber components including NIDs, test stations, and MSTs and performs fiber splicing to ensure high quality connectivity for customers and network operations.
Job Responsibility
Place Fiber within RMs assigned
Operate various equipment for installation of fiber
Install fiber, NIDs, Test Stations, MSTs & Splice fiber once installed
Maintenance on equipment
Vehicle, and trailer inspections
Update programs for work completion
Request materials for assigned tasks
Complete job costing, assign per location were working
Communicate and work with the Fiber Construction Leads and Supervisors
Requirements
Valid class 5 driver's license is required
