Job Description:

We are looking for Support Workers to come and join our dedicated team to help individuals live an independent and fulfilling life. The service consists of four tenants three of which have autism, ideal candidates would have experience supporting adults with complex physical health needs as well having experience in being able to use alternative ways of communicating. Challenges and health needs include: Prada Willi, Autism, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Challenging behaviour. Durham service is a small supported living service in a rural setting, five miles from the city of Durham.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting individuals in all areas of daily life activities whilst promoting choice and independence
  • Activities can include Personal care, finances, cooking, meal preparation, shopping and cleaning
  • Encourage and maintain full active participation in the community and enjoying activities at home
  • Activities can include walking in quieter/remote locations, drives out to the coast, arts and crafts, shopping, cinema, bowling, baking, watching films and listening to music

Nice to have:

Having your own transport would be an advantage due to the location being very rural
