Job Description:

We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Support Workers to work with an individual who has a learning Disability and autism and mental health support needs within the HELSTON area.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide 360 wrap-around support covering all aspects of an individual's life throughout the day and night
  • Work with an individual who has a learning Disability and autism and mental health support needs
  • Come to work to 'Get to know me' as that is what is needed to support them

Requirements:

  • Provide support during good times and difficult periods
  • Have a good understanding of Autism/Mental Health and how it impacts daily living or experience working in a mental health setting
  • Understand Autism or have experience working with Autistic people
  • Be a positive advocate
  • Be consistent
  • Be prepared to motivate in a supportive manner
  • Be patient and understanding
  • Have a fun and kind personality
  • Work to solve issues and overcome day-to-day tasks
  • Work as part of a team delivering person-centred care
  • Think outside the box
  • Be able to have a laugh and joke but have set standards and boundaries

Nice to have:

  • Autism certification (preferred)
  • Driving Licence (preferred)
