Job Description:

We are currently recruiting full time & bank Support Workers to support an individual within the BODMIN area. We are committed to Equal opportunities. We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Support Workers to work with an individual who has learning disability / autism / mental health support needs. The individual will be provide support throughout the day and night.

Requirements:

  • Provide support during the good times and the difficult periods our individual faces in their daily life
  • Have a good understanding of Autism / Mental Health and how this can impact daily living or have working with in a mental health setting
  • Understand Autism or have had experience working with Autistic people, and that you understand that being autistic is an important part of who they are
  • Be a positive advocate for them
  • Be consistent – do what you say you say you will if you can’t explain why
  • Be prepared to motivate them in a supportive manner
  • Be patient and understanding encourage them on the difficult days
  • Have a fun and kind personality who will go on adventures
  • Work with them to solve issues and overcome day to day tasks
  • Come to work to “Get to know me” as that is what is needed to support them
  • Work as part of the team who deliver amazing person-centred care
  • Think outside the box
  • Be able to have a laugh and joke but have set standards and boundaries
