We are currently looking to recruit more Female Support Workers due to the specific care needs and preferences of the people we support. This requirement is in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 and is classed as a genuine occupational requirement, making the role exempt from gender-based discrimination provisions. Applicants must also be aged 18 or over due to the nature of the support provided. At Cedar House we support 14 people with Mental Health needs, Acquired Brain Injuries, Learning Disabilities and Physical Disabilities. We work with people with varied abilities and needs. We enable people to develop their skills, strengths and resilience. We help them to develop their own set of resources to self-manage and stay well. We provide people with the right support to assist them in developing coping techniques which can make a noticeable difference in their everyday lives.
Job Responsibility:
Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support
Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life
Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests
Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administrating medication
Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping
Assisting with personal care as required
Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking
Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support
Requirements:
Full UK License with a vehicle
