This position involves providing vital 1:1 and 2:1 support for an engaging 15-year-old girl with autism, learning difficulties, and epilepsy. The role focuses on helping her access the community, build independence, and enjoy activities, while providing her family with a well-deserved break.
Job Responsibility
Community Outings: Accompanying her to her favorite spots, including parks (she loves the swings), bowling, nature walks, swimming, and trips to B&M etc.
Communication & Behavior: Using simple sentences, PECs, and Core Boards to communicate. You will utilize Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) to manage challenging behaviors (such as hair pulling or head banging) when she becomes frustrated or startled
Medical & Personal Care: Assisting with full personal care (toileting/pad changes) and being trained to administer emergency rescue medication (Buccal Midazolam) if a seizure occurs
Driving: Actively driving or supporting her in the vehicle to ensure safe travel during outings
Requirements
Confident, licensed driver with a clean record
Prior experience working with children with autism, learning disabilities, or complex medical/behavioral needs
Must hold (or be willing to undergo) an Enhanced DBS check
Satisfactory professional references covering the last 3 years of employment
Unrestricted right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not provided)
Must have completed (or be willing to undertake) Mandatory Training, PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression), and Buccal Midazolam administration
