Job Responsibility:
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, practical, and theoretical PE lessons to students across all key stages
Coach and manage school teams in relevant sports (e.g., football, netball, athletics, swimming, etc.) during practices and competitive fixtures
Assess, monitor and report on student performance and progress, ensuring clear targets are set for improvement
Maintain and enforce strict standards of safety, conduct and equipment usage during all physical activities
Contribute actively to the organisation and running of school sports days, fixtures and departmental events
Promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture that encourages participation, effort and respect among all students
Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in PE and coaching
Requirements:
A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field
Demonstrable successful experience teaching PE at the secondary school level
Strong practical expertise and the ability to coach multiple team and individual sports effectively
A commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and the psychological benefits of physical activity
Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
A proactive willingness to dedicate time to the extracurricular sports programme, including after-school
