A Fellow (Post-Doc) position is available in Dr. Takashi Ito’s lab at the Department of Chemistry, Kansas State University. The Fellow (Post-Doc) can gain skills required to conduct cutting-edge research in physical, materials, and analytical chemistry.
Job Responsibility:
Participate in DOE-BES-funded collaborative project with Prof. Higgins (KSU) that aims to understand solvent phase separation within nanopores and its impacts on solute diffusion for future development of innovative water purification membranes
Have considerable experience in small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) measurements and model-based analysis for investigating the structure of phase-separated solvents within nanoporous materials
Learn other techniques, including in-solution spectroscopic ellipsometry and laser-based fluorescence techniques
Requirements:
Ph.D in Chemistry and related fields
Experimental research in physical, materials, and analytical chemistry, specifically small-angle X-ray scattering measurements and analysis for nanomaterial characterization
Nice to have:
Spectroscopic ellipsometry and single-molecule fluorescence technique
