Job Description:

A Fellow (Post-Doc) position is available in Dr. Takashi Ito’s lab at the Department of Chemistry, Kansas State University. The Fellow (Post-Doc) can gain skills required to conduct cutting-edge research in physical, materials, and analytical chemistry.

Job Responsibility:

  • Participate in DOE-BES-funded collaborative project with Prof. Higgins (KSU) that aims to understand solvent phase separation within nanopores and its impacts on solute diffusion for future development of innovative water purification membranes
  • Have considerable experience in small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) measurements and model-based analysis for investigating the structure of phase-separated solvents within nanoporous materials
  • Learn other techniques, including in-solution spectroscopic ellipsometry and laser-based fluorescence techniques

Requirements:

  • Ph.D in Chemistry and related fields
  • Experimental research in physical, materials, and analytical chemistry, specifically small-angle X-ray scattering measurements and analysis for nanomaterial characterization

Nice to have:

Spectroscopic ellipsometry and single-molecule fluorescence technique
