Job Description
Fellow position within the CONDENSE project (CONversion of carbon DioxidE and Nitrogen to urea by harnessing Solar Energy), focusing on technologies for the energy transition, specifically the development of technologies for electrochemical synthesis of urea from carbon dioxide and nitrates. The role is in a multicultural, multi-disciplinary group at the Center for Sustainable Future Technologies (CSFT) – IIT.
Job Responsibility
develop a protocol to correctly quantify the amount of urea produced during the electrochemical tests
develop electrocatalysts and electrodes for co-electrolysis of CO2 and nitrates
develop and testing a reactor for urea electrosynthesis
oversee the preparation and submission of project deliverables, ensuring their accuracy and quality
monitoring progress towards achieving the project milestones and goals within the agreed timelines
Requirements
M.Sc. in Chemistry, Engineering and/or related fields
Documented experience in electrochemistry
Good command of spoken and written English
Nice to have
Previous experience in urea electrosynthesis, and/or CO2 electroreduction, and/or nitrates electroreduction
Previous experience with analytical techniques (NMR, HPLC, UV-vis, …)
Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
Possess Analytical Reasoning skills and a growth mindset
