Job Description

Join Our Purpose - Feeding the Future. Role: Feed Mill Operator. Feed Mill Operator plays a vital role in contributing to the production of high-quality livestock feed through the operations of bulk receiving, mixing, pelleting, and shipping activities at Chilliwack Mill. This position supports uninterrupted production operations by proactively identifying and resolving issues.

Job Responsibility

  • Operate production machinery and identify areas to optimize production performance
  • Ensure quality and food safety standards are met
  • Meet or exceed production targets, record data on production orders and activities
  • Execute small maintenance tasks and repair work on production equipment
  • Promote awareness of any unsafe situation and take appropriate action

Requirements

  • 2 - 3 years manufacturing experience an asset
  • Good computer skills
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Boiler certificate is preferred (at least Class 5)
  • Ability to work in rotational shifts
  • Ability & willingness to work shifts and overtime
  • Ability to lift 25 kgs regularly
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to focus on details within a fast-paced environment
  • Team player and coachable
  • Exposure to the elements, noise and dust, and working at heights
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills with attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Learn to operate feed mill equipment (grinders, mixers, and batching systems) to support livestock feed production
  • Assist with receiving and handling feed ingredients, including helping load and unload trucks
  • Support the loadout process by opening hatches, connecting hoses, taking samples, and checking product accuracy
  • Help monitor batching and scaling systems to ensure quality and consistency in finished feed
  • Perform basic equipment checks, cleaning, and routine maintenance
  • report any issues to the team
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment through daily housekeeping and spill cleanup
  • Follow safety and quality guidelines while working with the team to meet daily production goals
