Job Description:

Federal Network Engineer supporting HPE's Private Cloud Enterprise environment at a federal customer site. Responsible for implementing and maintaining network infrastructure supporting cloud services delivery. Customer-facing role involving deep understanding of networking technologies, cloud computing principles, and security best practices.

Job Responsibility:

Develop and support comprehensive network LAN, WAN, wireless and security solutions
Evaluate current network and security systems to propose and implement enhancements
Create and maintain standard builds/templates
Participate in IT network infrastructure project design and reviews
Work with global customers/service providers to design and implement large complex networks
Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems
Develop network and security documentation including diagrams and work instructions
Support development of processes and procedures for network reliability and performance

Requirements:

US Citizenship Required
Clearance Required: Secret
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent industry experience
7 years of progressive experience in network architecture, design, engineering and implementation in global IT networks and network security
DD8750 - Security Plus or higher Security Certification (CISSP, CASP, etc)
Advanced knowledge of networking and network protocols (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
Experience with HP and Aruba routing, switching, and wireless hardware
Experience with SDN, SD-WAN products and services
Strong WAN experience managing global network infrastructure
IPv4 and IPv6 experience

Nice to have:

Experience with cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, Google)
Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint and Juniper firewall management
Background in deploying both bare metal systems and virtual cloud services
Experience evaluating emerging technologies
