As a Fashion Planner, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of the Department, working closely with the Merchandiser, Buying and cross‑functional teams. You will contribute to building accurate plans, analysing performance, and supporting in‑season trading decisions to deliver the optimum assortment across markets. This role offers strong exposure to WSSI management, stock and profit control, and forward planning, making it an excellent development opportunity within Merchandising.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Merchandiser in building quarterly, half‑year and annual plans
Build, maintain and update the WSSI and line projections, supporting forecasting, reforecasting and visibility of sales, stock, intake, markdown and profit
Develop a strong understanding of the sales and profit plan and the implications of current trading
Support option, width and depth planning, recommending decisions aligned to demand, historical performance and space
Manage and analyse product size ratios, identifying opportunities to improve availability and performance by country, channel or shape
Work closely with the Merchandiser to support appropriate stock levels across the season
Analyse best and worst sellers, highlighting risks and opportunities and proposing clear actions
Manage slow sellers and support stock balancing actions, including transfers and reallocation where appropriate
Identify and cost markdown recommendations, supporting decision‑making and approval processes
Support clearance and exit strategies to reduce terminal stock and protect profitability
Prepare weekly performance and trading reports to support Weekly Trading Meetings
Deliver clear, accurate analysis to inform in‑season actions and forward commitments
Develop a strong understanding of all key commercial levers and how they impact sales, margin and stock
Work closely with Buying, Branch Merchandising and Channel teams to support delivery of the Department strategy
Build strong working relationships and develop merchandising capability through on‑the‑job learning and coaching
Lead, coach and developt the MAA Merchandise Assistant
Requirements:
Has around 3 years’ experience in Merchandising or Planning within a fashion retail environment
Highly analytical, with strong numerical skills and a commercial mindset
Comfortable working with data and systems (SAP BW or similar), with advanced Excel/office skills
Proactive, organised and eager to learn, with a desire to develop within Merchandising
Enjoys working collaboratively and building strong cross‑functional relationships
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Passionate about fashion retail and thrives in a fast‑paced, energetic environment
