Are you a highly motivated individual looking to start or expand your aquaculture career? We are currently looking for a passionate and highly motivated individual to make a difference at the Company’s Seawater site at Cheesebay, situated on North Uist. The role is challenging, but ultimately very rewarding and can lead to a variety of fulfilling career progression opportunities. If you are ambitious and motivated and want to work with a likeminded team, then this is the role for you. This post is offered on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be required to work a two week on / two week off rotational basis.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading on feed, control and inspection of fish
  • Site housekeeping and maintenance
  • Inspection and maintenance of equipment and facilities around the farm
  • Identification and reporting of sea lice levels
  • Monitoring and maintaining fish health and welfare
  • Daily environmental checks
  • Boat handling around the farm
  • Maintaining high biosecurity levels
  • General farm tasks to keep the whole operation running

Requirements:

  • Experience is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided
  • You will be required to hold, or able to obtain, and retain an ML5 or ENG1 medical certificate
  • Flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the job
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to understand the aims of the site and to support the rest of the team to achieve these
  • Respect for the need for safe working practices
  • Drivers licence is essential
