Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Family Time Service for the position of a Family Time Supervisor - internally known as a Senior Contact Worker. We are looking for someone who has experience of working and communicating with children and their families. You will be required to collect and safely transport children from their placement to the family time venue and return them when the contact has concluded. If you want to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and families, then this this is the role for you.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collect and safely transport children from their placement to the family time venue and return them when the contact has concluded
  • Provide a written report from observation of family time which is utilised by social workers and other professionals to inform further assessments
  • Establish effective working relationships with families, social workers and other professionals

Requirements:

  • Experience of working and communicating with children and their families
  • Extensive and in-depth experience of direct work with children, young people and their families
  • Experience of effective partnership working with other agencies
  • Clear understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion matters
  • Ability to promote anti-discriminatory practices and behaviours
  • Ability to work as a team and independently using initiative, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of car safety legislation when transporting children
  • Committed to professional learning and development
  • Willing to adhere to Birmingham Children’s Trust values
  • Hold a full current driving licence
  • Have sole use of a car for work purposes
  • Available to work flexibly outside of core hours
  • An enhanced DBS will be required

  • Assist the Admissions Director in developing census and quality mix by providing prospective residents and/or responsible parties with appropriate information and assistance to the nursing center
  • Completes all assigned tasks in a timely manner as instructed by supervisor

  • Cooperates with department personnel, as well as other facility personnel to ensure that services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of residents
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment

  • Meets with Supervisor on a regular basis to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or improving services
