Family Support Worker

• Providing a personal welcome for first-time and returning visitors
• Helping visitors access the services available to them
• Effective and efficient running of the Visitor Centres and Play Areas in the Prison Visits Halls
• Assisting on Family Days
• Ensuring prisoners and their families have a valuable visiting experience
• Improving the quality of visits for children, young people and families
• Helping to maintain positive, healthy and supportive family relationships

• Experience of dealing with people in a customer service-based role
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Non-judgemental and empathetic work ethic
• Ability to work under challenging circumstances
• Experience in providing play activities for children of a range of ages (advantageous)
• Ability to obtain and retain enhanced security vetting
• Access to a car or be driven to the Prison (due to remote location)
