Family Support Worker

• Provide a personal welcome for first-time and returning visitors
• Help visitors access the services available to them
• Assist in the effective and efficient running of the Visitor Centre and Play Area in the Prison Visits Hall
• Assist on Family Days to ensure prisoners and their families have a valuable visiting experience
• Improve the quality of visits for children, young people and families
• Help maintain positive, healthy and supportive family relationships

• Experience of dealing with people in a customer service-based role
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under challenging circumstances
• Non-judgemental and empathetic work ethic
• Experience in providing play activities for children of a range of ages (advantageous)
• Ability to obtain and retain enhanced security vetting
• Access to a car or be driven to the Prison (due to remote location, no public transport)
