Job Description:

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of families and children? We're recruiting on behalf of a valued client for dedicated Family Support Workers to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is motivated, empathetic, and committed to supporting families in building positive futures.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide guidance on all aspects of daily life, including parenting, budgeting, routines, and healthy living
  • Support parents in developing essential parenting skills while always promoting the welfare of children
  • Develop, implement, and monitor family placement and assessment plans
  • Work collaboratively with parents, family members, and professionals such as GPs, health visitors, and social workers
  • Maintain accurate and evidence-based documentation
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for families and children
  • After completing probation, you may take on responsibilities as a Shift Lead, overseeing the care and safety of families, supervising staff, and ensuring smooth running of shifts

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and families
  • A minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Childcare & Education or a relevant field
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and child development
  • The ability to build trust and supportive relationships with families who may be facing complex challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports
  • An enhanced DBS check is required for this role
  • Candidates should be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as part of the rota
