Our client - a Family Assessment Centre in Malvern is seeking dedicated Family Support Workers to join their therapeutic team for ad hoc day and night shifts. They provide a welcoming environment for parents and children, focusing on keeping families together by providing the skills and support they need to succeed.
Job Responsibility:
Modeling Parenting Skills: Teaching and encouraging positive interactions, including feeding, bathing, and behavioral management
Observation & Recording: Monitoring family interactions and child welfare, ensuring all data is accurately recorded on our digital systems
Therapeutic Support: Utilizing a PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and trauma-informed principles
Childcare Assistance: Providing occasional childcare to allow parents to attend essential group or individual sessions
Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written skills for report writing and family interaction
The ability to remain calm in emergency or volatile situations
Nice to have:
NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce
Knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and child development
Experience working in a residential setting or directly with vulnerable families
