Are you passionate about supporting families and using your lived experience to help others feel understood, empowered, and connected? At Aspens Charities, we walk alongside families supporting neurodivergent individuals, people with learning disabilities and those with complex needs. We are looking for a compassionate and relatable individual to join our Family Support team as a Family Support Worker. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with lived experience of neurodivergence - either personally or as a parent, carer or who wants to support other families through shared understanding and practical guidance.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide emotional and practical support to parents, carers, and families
  • Help families understand their rights, entitlements, and available support
  • Signpost to local services, community resources, and useful information
  • Deliver support through one-to-one sessions (online or face-to-face)
  • Deliver support through group sessions and drop-ins
  • Deliver support through workshops and community events
  • Share accessible, family-friendly information
  • Encourage wellbeing and resilience for families and carers

Requirements

  • Lived experience of neurodivergence
  • Supportive, approachable, and good listeners
  • Comfortable sharing experiences and trusted information
  • Willing to learn and grow within the role
  • Confidently engage with individuals or small groups
  • Flexible to support occasional evenings or weekends
  • Ability to travel independently to different locations (driving licence and access to vehicle is essential)
