Job Description:

Family Support Worker focusing on attendance and pastoral care in a secondary school. Instrumental in raising attendance across all year groups through family partnership, attendance development, integrated support services, crisis response, and advocacy.

Job Responsibility:

Build strong relationships with families
Carry out home visits
Act as bridge between school and home
Identify students with concerning attendance patterns
Track and analyse attendance trends
Partner with primary schools for Year 7 transitions
Coordinate support for academic transitions
Evaluate individual needs of students and families
Signpost families to specialist agencies
Liaise with health and social care professionals
Offer crisis response support
Implement crisis intervention plans
Record safeguarding concerns
Help parents foster learning environment
Raise parental awareness of education value
Coordinate informative workshops
Represent voice and needs of students
Keep detailed records of family engagement
Produce reports for school leadership

Requirements:

Must be a caring & compassionate individual
Previous experience in a similar role or working with teenagers
Must be able to drive
Eager to get stuck in and go above & beyond for all
Must be able to work within a large team
