Working with Northamptonshire's Childrens's Trust, We are seeking a committed and proactive Family Support Worker (FSW) to work alongside Social Workers in delivering practical, relationship-based support to children and families. This role is vital in helping families make positive and sustainable changes by providing hands-on support in the community and contributing to effective multi-agency working. While the role offers flexible hybrid working, you must be available to attend the office on designated days and to provide in-person support when required.
Job Responsibility:
Provide direct work with parents and families, offering practical and emotional support
Deliver parenting support, including guidance around routines, boundaries, and family dynamics
Support families with budgeting and practical life skills
Work with families experiencing domestic abuse and promote healthy relationships
Support duty functions and supervised family time where required
Attend meetings, reviews, and multi-agency forums to contribute to care planning
Work closely with Social Workers to support assessments and interventions
Maintain accurate, timely, and professional case records
Work flexibly to meet service needs, including attending the office on set days
Requirements:
Experience working with children, families, or vulnerable adults
Confidence delivering direct work with parents and carers
Knowledge of safeguarding, domestic abuse, and family support interventions
Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Strong communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills
Comfortable working flexibly across office, home, and community settings
